Catholic Education Service Campaign

Catholic Education Service (CES) Campaign

The Welsh Government is currently holding a consultation on its proposals to amend its legislation for Religious Education. This is a really important consultation – the resulting legislation could have lasting and serious consequences for RE both for Wales and beyond.

This week, Molly Conrad from the Catholic Education Service emailed updating Catholics on how things are going. Both Archbishop George Stack and Bishop Peter Brignall have written to the First Minister about this, as well as the Headteacher of every Catholic school in Wales. The CES are encouraging every Catholic to write to their Members of the Sennedd (MS) asking them to oppose the bill.

The CES have created a ‘Sample Letter Generator’ to assist with this. The process simply involves completing your name and address and pressing the ‘submit’ button.

Psalm 46:1-3

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
