Pilgrim Fatima Statue to come to Menevia 27/28 May

The National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima, and Relics of Blessed Jacinta and Francisco, will be travelling around the country, visiting almost every Cathedral, as well as some abbeys and churches in this year, the Centenary year of the Fatima message, which was given by the Blessed Virgin between May and October 1917.

The Visitation to Menevia Cathedral is from 27-28 May 2017.

This Visitation will include Holy Mass presided over by Bishop Burns, and the Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary that was made by Cardinal Nichols in Westminster Cathedral on Sat 18th February, as well as enthronement and crowning of the Statue. People will be able to venerate the relics of Blessed Jacinta and Francisco, as so many wanted to do in Westminster Cathedral, and there will also be the opportunity to be enrolled in the Brown Scapular, as well as participate in Fatima devotions including the Rosary, and Fatima talks.

Details of the Visitation programme as a whole can be seen here:

You can see information about the new Centenary Crown, which has been specially made for the Statue, at:

http://www.worldfatima-englandwales.org.uk/crown-gifts.html

Bishop Burns will crown Our Lady with a new silver gilt Centenary Crown that has been created by the firm of Leitão & Irmão in Portugal and which they have freely offered to Our Lady and WAF England and Wales. In return, when they attend the Visitation in the Cathedral, the faithful are invited to freely contribute whatever items of gold and silver, or jewellery with gold and silver, which they wish to offer to Our Lady, and as a way of reimbursing Leitão & Irmão.

This is the way the original crown was created in 1942, when the women of Portugal offered gold and silver jewellery for that purpose, in thanksgiving to Our Lady for preserving their country in peace during World War II.

Anyone wishing to do this should download and print off the form which can be found here:

http://www.worldfatima-englandwales.org.uk/pdfs/waf-form-gifts-crown.pdf

fill it in, and bring it along with their gold and silver jewellery offerings on the day, for which they will be given a receipt.

Information about the Fatima Centennial Tree, which is a special gift to Our Lady in celebration of the centenary apparitions in Fatima, Portugal, can be seen at:

If anyone wishes to donate towards the costs of the Visitation programme, which are considerable, they can do so by emailing:

and the bank account details etc. will be sent to them.
