At Sacred Heart Parish Ystradgynlais October is the time we have a multicultural Mass in honour of Our Lady.Readings and Prayers are said in Tagalog, Malayalam,Gaelic, Italian, German, Welsh, English and many other languages. After Mass we always share a multi –cultural Feast in our Parish room. This event has taken place for many years and has made us a very close Parish Community.
Our Christmas Celebrations started on December 2nd with our annual Christmas Concert,as usual featuring Ystradgynlais Brass Band who always make the evening swing, A wonderful harpist and beautiful professional singers from the area make the evening unforgettable. The younger children of the Parish took part in the Nativity Play bringing smiles and tears to many eyes, while our music group “Kids with Guitars”entertained us with flair.
Sunday December 4th we held our Christmas Party in St Cynog’s Church in Wales Hall, inviting our Syrian Refugee Families to join us making this a truly multi-faith occasion. Our Parish Priest Fr. Henry Nevin proved to be an excellent Childrens’ entertainer and could I’m sure be hired by the hour. A great time was had by all !!
